Introducing the Peace of Mind Quilt—a serene masterpiece that blends the charm of orange peel blocks with tiny heart accents. I wanted the design to inspire the notion that your peace always comes first. The sweeping petal-like curves surround and protect your inner peace at heart center, encouraging you to slow down and reflect. With just a touch of creativity, you can mix and match fabrics from your favourite collection to craft a stunning combination that reflects your personal style. The Peace of Mind Quilt encourages you to showcase your favourite prints, allowing them to blend seamlessly together in a soothing mosaic. The beauty is, the further you step back, the more the pattern changes as different elements become more noticeable.
Love Me More by Lisa Audit
This collection is a vibrant celebration of meadow life, teeming with fluttering butterflies, delicate dragonflies, and the lush flora and fauna that paint the landscape in nature's finest hues. The mix-and-match stage of the Peace of Mind Quilt is my favourite. Here are my stacks, ready to be sewn into blocks!
Fabric Requirements to Make the Cover Throw Quilt
*For the cover quilt, I flipped the lighter fabric to make up the middle cross and used the slightly darker "shell" fabric for the orange peel background.
Fabric A: Riley White Confetti Cotton (1 3/4 yds.)
Fabric B: Shell Confetti Cotton (2 3/4 yds.)
Fabric C: 1/3 yd. of each of (8) fabrics
Fabric C1: Blush Main
Fabric C2: Blush Flutter
Fabric C3: Coral Tonal
Fabric C4: Coral Seeds
Fabric C5: Green Main
Fabric C6: Yellow Botanical
Fabric C7: Yellow Flutter
Fabric C8: Cloud Plaid
Orange Peel Units
The pattern allows for a little extra background fabric to make squaring up incredibly easy. This way you won't have to worry about your block being too wonky and/or too small when you trim it up to its required size.
As you can see, my orange peel unit is a little off from being pressed on the bias. That's okay! With the extra 1/4" of fabric in Template #1, there is more wiggle room to accurately square the unit up to 6 1/2" x 6 1/2". When you line your 45 degree line up with the orange peel points at each end, you know it will be perfectly square. It's also easy to see your 1/4" seam allowance on all four sides.
All squared up
You will make (8) orange peel units with each fabric
Heart Units
These tiny hearts make the most precious centres.
Now Put it All Together
Grab your mix 'n matched stacks and start sewing them together.
In each stack I have (4) orange peel units, (4) background rectangles and (1) heart unit.
Peace of Mind Block
Lay out each unit as pictured and sew together in rows to complete your first Peace of Mind Block.

I had a spa day planned with friends and upon walking into the totally zen sitting area, I exclaimed, "The Peace of Mind Quilt was MADE for this space! I have to bring her back here for a little photo session!" And that's exactly what I did (with permission of course).
