The Warm Heart Quilt strikes the perfect balance of comfort and charm at 50" x 50"—just the right size to snuggle under on the couch with a good book or to wrap around a little one in a crib. Whether you're gifting it to a new parent, draping it over your favorite armchair, or adding a cozy layer to your own reading nook, this quilt brings warmth and heart wherever it goes. Its versatile size makes it both practical and personal—a handmade hug in fabric form.
The construction of the Warm Heart Quilt begins right at the heart—literally! You'll start by piecing the central heart unit, then gradually work your way outward, building the design piece by piece until you reach the borders. This collection was made using Cozy Bebe by Simple Simon and Co. of Riley Blake Designs. In this blog post I have outlined the prints I used in each quilt.
Meet the Trio...
First up is our “all-blue” King Bear version—a soothing blend of denims and soft greys that brings a sense of calm and quiet nostalgia. There’s something timeless about this palette, like your favorite worn-in jeans or a cloudy sky before a snowfall. The photos can’t quite capture the cozy, lived-in beauty of these fabrics—you really have to see (and feel) it in person to appreciate the warmth they bring to every stitch.
I went with a bunny-soft sherpa backing in cloud and the Smitten pantograph by Urban Elementz for the perfect puffy texture.
- Fabric A: Blue Main
- Fabric B: Light Blue Main *Note: since this print is directional, I had to double my HST in order to have the prints running the correct way.
- Fabric C: Blue Bears
- Fabric D: Dove Stars
Next up is this darling blend of powder blues and blushes—meet Queen Bear. Soft, sweet, and perfectly muted, this palette brings a gentle warmth that would complement any neutral nursery. The delicate tones create a soothing atmosphere, while still offering enough colour to feel playful and fresh. It’s a timeless look that’s both modern and sentimental, making it a lovely choice for gifting.

- Fabric B: Light Blue Bears
- Fabric C: Blush Stars
- Fabric D: Blue Flowers
And last, but not least, we have a beautiful blend of blues and mellow rose hues for another irresistible palette. I’m calling this one French Bear—inspired by the sweet French saying nestled right in the center heart. It makes the whole quilt feel like a little love note. Paired with soft tones and delicate prints, this version feels like something you'd find in a storybook nursery.

The Cozy Bebe prints by Simple Simon and Co. are just perfect for the Warm Heart Quilt pattern—so perfect, in fact, that I couldn’t stop at just one. I was completely enchanted and ended up making three! The soft textures, sweet motifs, and gentle color palette work beautifully with the heart-centered design. When fabric and pattern come together this seamlessly, you just have to keep sewing!
Note: Non-directional prints work best for Fabrics B-D in the Warm Heart Quilt Pattern.
Now it’s your turn! What dreamy combinations will you come up with? Whether you’re drawn to soft pastels, bold brights, or cozy neutrals, the Warm Heart Quilt is the perfect canvas for your creativity. I can’t wait to see how you make it your own!
The Arrowhead Cabins
Clear Lake, Manitoba
A Cozy Stay in the Heart of Riding Mountain National Park
If you ever find yourself exploring the beautiful wilderness of Riding Mountain National Park, I have a little gem to recommend—The Arrowhead Cabins, located right in the heart of downtown Wasagaming. Tucked just across the street from my favourite Italian restaurant (hello, T.R. McKoys!), these cabins are a perfect blend of comfort and convenience.
Our stay at the Arrowhead Cottage was everything you want in a home away from home: clean, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. From the soft linens to the modern scandi accents, every detail felt intentional. The location couldn’t be better—steps from the shops, the lakefront, and of course, the best pasta in town.
Whether you're visiting for a weekend of hiking, paddling, or just relaxing in nature, the Arrowhead Cottages offer the perfect place to unwind at the end of the day. I’ll absolutely be coming back—and maybe even planning my next quilt retreat here!
LOVE everything about this! Beautiful Perfect!
